10:40AM CDT Protecting Data and Databases From Real-World Threats by Dan Morgan
Much of what we teach in security is non-technical governance, standards and compliance: Not this workshop.
Much of what we teach is repetition of what you already know, Principle of Least Privilege and Separation of Duties: Not this workshop.
Only for TCOUG, and only for those that attend this meeting ... Oracle's Technical Director for Database and Cloud Security is going to use an Oracle Database, and SQL*Plus to teach the real-world technical skills required to analyzing logs, identifying vulnerabilities and gaps, and report on findings to management.
Source code will be available for those that bring a USB flash drive (thumb drive).
11:30AM CDT Rethinking the JSON Data Tier to naturally enable AI (and other mundane stuff) by JP Dijcks
Many applications are developed on flexible schemas – JSON – to deliver business value in an agile manner. While this pattern delivers the value we seek, the way the data tier is implemented creates issues for larger, often more strategic initiatives. This session explores:
The JSON application silo and how it almost naturally occurs
The impact of this pattern on AI and other mundane stuff like data integration
A series of solutions that simplify and, in some cases, revolutionize the data tier setting your business up for bigger things
After our time together you will understand capabilities in Oracle Database that enable you to keep all the benefits of agile application development with JSON, but optimize the data architecture, drive down cost, and improve data integrity and governance, setting your data up for successful AI patterns.
