Detailed Agenda

09:00AM CST Opening note by TCOUG President, Suresh Sikharam

09:05AM CST Message from our Sponsor - Collier IT

09:10AM CST Introducing the new faces of Oracle Machine Learning

by Mark Hornick

  • In-database machine learning offers automation, scalability, and ease of deployment. OML on Oracle Autonomous Database introduces three new "faces": OML4Py, OML AutoML UI, and OML Services. With Oracle Machine Learning for Python, data professionals leverage the database as a high-performance compute engine - minimizing data movement - while also benefiting from powerful automated machine learning. The Oracle Machine Learning AutoML User Interface places a no-code user interface in the hands of data scientists and non-expert users as a productivity tool to automate the modeling and deployment process. OML Services provides REST endpoints for model management and deployment along with cognitive text analytics. Join us for this OML overview with demonstrations.

09:40AM CST Break (10 minutes)

09:50AM CST You Have a machine learning model, now what?

by Marcos Arancibia

  • One of the more challenging problems to solve when developing machine learning-based applications can be model deployment. Most machine learning project failures occur due to difficulties pushing models to production. Join us as we show how Oracle Machine Learning on Autonomous Database makes it simple to deploy machine learning solutions. We will discuss and demonstrate multiple options for augmenting your enterprise projects with machine learning using the SQL, Python, and REST APIs.

10:20AM CST Break (10 minutes)

10:30AM CST Using third-party Python packages from SQL and REST with Oracle

Autonomous Database

by Sherry LaMonica

  • With Oracle Machine Learning for Python, you can invoke user-defined functions on database-spawned and controlled Python engines using embedded Python execution. An added benefit is the ability to easily leverage data-parallel and task-parallel invocation aided by the database environment. Join this session to learn about the options for working with third-party packages using OML4Py from the Python, SQL, and REST APIs - covering on-premises Oracle Database and Oracle Autonomous Database.

11:00AM CST BREAK (20 minutes)

11:20 PM CST Operations, Application Development, and Security: How Oracle's

Converged Database is Radically Changing the Game for All Three

by Dr. Matthew O’Keefe

  • Oracle's converged database's support for operations, application development and security are changing what is possible for customers in each of these domains. Come to this session to learn more about how a converged database that supports multiple data types, workloads, and app dev paradigms can change how your company does business in each of these areas.

12:50 PM CST Closing note by the TCOUG President, Suresh Sikharam
