· Matt will give a quick overview of MongoDB and how it differs from RDBMSs like Oracle, to understand why many "modern" and cloud-native workloads are targeted for MongoDB. Most of the session will be diving into a demo of the Compass GUI client and Mongo shell for browsing the database, and of the Ops Manager tool for monitoring, alerting, backup/restore, performance optimization, and managing MongoDB at scale.

About the Speakers

Rohan Kalra - Oracle

I am an Enterprise Cloud Architect at Oracle with over 15 years of experience as Oracle DBA, Developer, Analytics, BI and Data Center Architecture. In my current role at Oracle I work closely with Oracle’s Product management and sales teams to help customers move their workloads to Cloud and create Complex Solution Architectures to resolve business issues.

Suresh Sikharam - Thomson Reuters

Suresh Sikharam is a Lead Database Engineer at Thomson Reuters. Suresh has over two decades of IT industry experience. During these years he worked as an Oracle Developer, DBA, Architect, Tech Lead and manager. Suresh has successfully led and delivered several automation projects involving Oracle System configuration, Software cloning, database build and PSU patching using Puppet and Ruby. Suresh coached many developers and dba’s in application and database optimization.Suresh is interested in becoming a Data Scientist one day and has completed MOOC courses in Data Science and Machine Learning.

Scott Stokes - MongoDB

Over 28 years experience in the IT field in all phases of development and technical sales. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Competent and comfortable speaking to audiences from developers to business leaders and CxOs.
