09:10AM CST Autonomous Database completely simple, simply complete by
Robert Greene, Sr. Director Product Management
Autonomous Database builds upon the foundational layers of the Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure to transfer database lifecycle responsibility to Oracle, add more automation, improve pay-per-use consumption, increase ease of use and ultimately deliver the lowest TCO. Autonomous Database is suitable for all new database applications and as an upgrade target for many existing databases. In this session we will review real world adoption constraints while discussing how Autonomous Database delivers its value add along with a practical overview of how-to setup a complete self-service environment for easy adoption. Session will involve some slides and an in-service walk thru of the topics being discussed.

Don't pay the bad guys for YOUR information! Vulnerabilities and ransomware are hot topics as of late and we expect this to continue in the limelight as attacks become more automated and potentially more destructive. These often-public events, and now board room discussions, involve reprioritizing strategies around recoverability, operations, security, and social education. One of the most effective countermeasures to protect your data and combat this risk is to make the backup infrastructure invisible, reducing its exposure to attacks. In this session we’ll be discussing what Oracle offers to be an invisible tool in your ransomware recovery protection and the use cases behind it.
A few of the differentiating traits we will cover rely on architecture based on Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance include:
1. Secure communication channels
2. Use of strong authentication
3. Segregation of credentials
4. Surface exposure reduction

11:00AM CST Closing note by the TCOUG President, Suresh Sikharam
