About the Speakers

Maria Colgan

Maria Colgan is a master product manager at Oracle Corporation and has been with the company since version 7.3 was released in 1996. Maria is responsible for evangelizing new database functionality and getting feedback from customers and partners incorporated into future releases of the product. Prior to this role, she was the product manager for Oracle Database In-Memory and the query optimizer.
Based on Maria’s extensive experience in Oracle’s Server Technology Performance Group – where she conducted competitive customer benchmarks and tuning sessions – she develops and delivers material on the Oracle Database and the best practices for incorporating it into your environments. She is also a contributing author to the Oracle Optimizer blog http://blogs.oracle.com/optimizer and the Oracle Database Developer blog http://blogs.oracle.com/Developers.

Brian Bream

Brian is the Chief Executive Officer at Collier IT and an Oracle ACE Director for Systems Technologies He has over 37 years in the Information Technology field starting in the US Navy in 1981. Although proficient in many technologies his passion has been in the Operating Environment, Engineered Systems, Data Center grade servers, Big Data/Hadoop, and storage. He has been teaching for Sun Microsystems / Oracle since 2000. Brian actively writes a blog and provides formal presentations on various Oracle and related technology topics.

Mike Olivas

Mike Olivas is a Solutions Architect at Datical with experience in multiple cloud environments, systems, and DevOps. He has helped multiple customers implement database release automation. His previous roles included Software Architect, Sales Engineer, Services Engineer and Developer with a demonstrated history of producing results with large and small companies across multiple lines of business and industries.
